Procedures for joining the MAIF

1. Membership application must be completed and sent along with the appropriate fee to the MAIF International Headquarters. (see application form and fee structure).

2. MAIF Board will review your application and make any investigations needed as related to your application.

3. When the application is found to be complete, accurate & all other the specific membership criteria, the MAIF Board will approve your application.

4. After approval by the MAIF Board, your application will be submitted to the MAIF Congress for review and final acceptance. Note: prior to membership approval, the first year's dues must be paid (in USD) to the MAIF Treasurer.

5. At the MAIF Congress, your organization is expected to provide a Delegate, as the MAIF Board will present your application for membership acceptance.

6. Your Delegate will be given the opportunity to briefly present your organization to the MAIF Congress.

7. Provisional membership is then presented to your organization if the Congress votes in favor of your application. Full membership is granted after two years of participation and proper payment of dues.

8. If your organization's application is rejected, the first year's membership dues are refunded.

9. Upon membership approval by the MAIF Congress, your organization will receive a formal letter of membership.

MEMBERSHIP FEES:

MAIF "Group Annual Membership" Fee is
$250.00 USD per year (January 1st thru Dec 31) Note: A non-refundable application fee of $100.00 USD must be submitted with each Group Member Application.

MAIF "Individual Life Membership" Fee is $100.00 USD, for those that are already Life Members of a "current" MAIF National Group Member, or $200.00 USD, for those individuals that are not Life Members of a "current" MAIF National Group Member.

MAIF "Annual Membership" is now available at a fee of $50.00 USD, per year for persons of Kyu Grade that are also members of "Current Registered" MAIF Clubs.
Note:
Dan Grade
holders are required to join MAIF as Life Members.

 “ITKJ Life-Time Fellows” are those persons that have made a contribution of $50.00 USD or greater to help Support the Further Development of Traditional Kodokan Judo as an ”International Treasure” to be Preserved for Future Generations!

MAIF Rank Certification and Promotion Fees for Black Belt Ranks

  • 1st Degree - $150.00 USD
  • 2nd Degree - $175.00 USD
  • 3rd Degree - $200.00 USD
  • 4th Degree - $225.00 USD
  • 5th Degree - $250.00 USD
  • 6th Degree - $275.00 USD
  • 7th Degree - $300.00 USD
  • 8th Degree - $325.00 USD
  • 9th Degree - $350.00 USD
  • 10th Degree - $375.00 USD

Below Black Belt:
MAIF now issues Kyu or Class Level ("below" Black Belt) Certificates to its Member Certified Instructor / Examiners!
The Fee for these blank certificates is $6.00 USD (or $7.00 USD for "Customized" certificates with Instructor's Name, Rank & Title included). The Fee for complete "Customized" certificates with all information included (Name, Rank, System & Date of Rank) is $10.00 USD (Note: Minimum order of 5 Certificates)

Note: Both Black Belt & Below Black Belt Grades will be posted on the MAIF Website (at no cost) upon notification by a Certified Instructor / Examiner.

  • Associate Instructor / Examiner (1st - 3rd Dan): $50.00
  • Senior Instructor / Examiner (4th - 6th Dan): $75.00
  • Master Instructor / Examiner (7th - 10th Dan): $100.00
  • Grandmaster Instructor / Examiner (9th - 10th Dan): $100.00

Payment: ("Certified Checks" are to be payable to USMAF or you may also pay with a credit card.)
